1st Raunds Beavers Evening

Last week, 1st Raunds Beavers group visited the Town Hall. They were welcomed by Cllr Paul Byrne, the Mayor of Raunds, for an evening filled with fun activities and learning about local government.

The children had the opportunity to sit in the Council Chamber, where the Mayor explained local government and the specific responsibilities of Raunds Town Council.

A mock Council meeting was held, the Beavers actively participated, sharing their ideas on what would improve Raunds.

The children had the chance to try on the Mayor's Chain, and then completed activity sheets, including designing their own Mayor's Chain of Office. The most creative design was awarded a prize, and all participants received sweets.
