Cemetery & Burials
Raunds Cemetery is located on London Road and has been used for burials since 1917.
It is open 24 hours a day and managed by Raunds Town Council.
A memorial post box is situated at the entrance, offering mourners the chance to post private letters to deceased loved ones.
Letters can be written on biodegradable paper imbedded with wildflower seeds, which can be collected from the Cemetery Chapel. Collected letters are planted in the Cemetery grounds when the postbox is emptied.
Burial plots can be purchased through Raunds Town Council or your local Funeral Directors.
The Cemetery Registers are kept at the Town Hall and searches of the Registers can be carried out, at the appropriate fee by prior appointment.
Raunds Town Council is also responsible for management of the closed churchyard at St Peter's Church. Records for burials in the churchyard are stored at the Northamptonshire Records Office.
